Executive Team Biographies
Ronald J. Greenwood, President
Ron is a combat decorated, combat wounded veteran for service on the front lines in Vietnam. Upon returning from his tour of duty, Ron graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with Honors. He received his law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law.
Ron grew a very successful law practice with offices in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Walnut Creek, California. Ron is also a well-known keynote speaker. His ongoing contribution to the disabled veteran community includes many years as legal counsel to the California DVBE Alliance and past service as a board member.
Ron worked closely with John Lopez, Chairman - Association of Service Disabled Veterans pro bono and at his expense in pursuit of the national legislation for disabled veterans. After the Federal legislation became law Ron and Lisa, his wife and business partner, opened Global to be a model SDVOB company that drives costs out of the supply chain and increases customer service. Global was the first company to be given the John K. Lopez Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award by the California Department of Veterans Affairs.
Ron is an Executive Board member of VCEDA and the “founding member” of the Triad committee of VCEDA that promotes the integration and interaction of the local business community, education community and the Ventura County Naval Base. Global continues to be a strong supporter of ASDV. Ron is the founding Board member and Chairman of the Gold Coast Veteran’s Foundation, a 501©3 charitable organization. |

Lisa E. Greenwood, Vice President
Lisa graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and received her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law. Prior to opening Global Energy & Technology with her husband, Lisa practiced law with offices in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and Walnut Creek, California.
She was also an Adjunct Professor of law at Golden Gate University School of Law and John F. Kennedy University School of Law.
Lisa has worked with the Association of Service Disabled Veterans (ASDV) in Washington, D.C. for many years and is currently the National Chair of Silver Star Women of America, an arm of ASDV. As Chair, Lisa testified before a House committee on Veterans Affairs in 2005. (Please see www.asdv.org.)

David Laughland, CEO and Founder of Growth Investment Enterprise (consultant)
GIE is a strategic consulting firm focused on Telecom and high Technology markets. GIE assists Fortune 100 Telecom companies as well as high tech start ups to grow in their current markets as well as new markets. Dave also serves on the board of several start-up companies in an Advisory capacity. This includes companies involved in IP voice technology, Wireless Data software, Storage service provider, and a Video Conferencing provider.
Dave served as Chief Operating Officer of InfoTech for 2 years prior to forming his own consulting business. A 33-year veteran of the communications industry, Laughland joined InfoTech after an impressive career with AT&T and Lucent Technologies where he served as Vice President of Marketing and as in-house legal counsel.
Most recently Dave served as Vice President of Marketing for North America, for Lucent Technology, Global Commercial Markets. During his tenure, he directed the marketing efforts for this $15 billion operation. Prior to that Dave led a Global team that Doubled its revenue in 3 years to $1.4 Billion while tripling its bottom line.
While a member of the AT&T Law Department, Laughland participated in the company’s defense against the antitrust case brought by the U.S. Justice Department, and subsequently worked with the Federal Communications Commission to remove the restrictions that kept AT&T out of the computer business.
He later supervised the company’s first distribution channel for AT&T’s PBX products, established a VAR channel for voice processing products, and in 1991was named International Marketing Vice President for the PBX business and built the business from basically nothing to $100 million in less than 2 years.
Laughland also led the marketing department as AT&T’s PBX business achieved profitability for the first time after deregulation.
Laughland holds a B.S. in Engineering from University of Illinois, a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, Chicago, and an MBA and Ph.D. from Pace University. |

Scott Denniston, CEO of the Scott Group of Virginia, LLC (consultant)
The Scott Group of Virginia, LLC, is a veteran-owned small business providing strategic business development services to small businesses in the Federal government market place. Scott Group also facilitates partnerships and alliances between large and small businesses to compete on Federal contract opportunities as well as assist large businesses to establish world class subcontracting programs and identify potential small business subcontractors and partners. Using unique market research tools potential markets are identified, current incumbents and contracting mechanisms determined, and strategies to show “value add” are established to set clients apart from their competition. The Scott Group also helps clients determine contract vehicles and partnerships to enhance their business development.
Scott Denniston, President of the Scott Group is a nationally recognized advocate for veteran entrepreneurs. In 1998 he was appointed to the Congressional Commission on Service Members and Veterans Transition Assistance, where he developed recommendations for enhancing and expanding support for veteran business owners. Many of those recommendations were incorporated into Public Law 106-50, the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Act of 1999, and Public Law 108-183, the Veterans Benefits Act of 2003. He established the Center for Veterans Enterprise, a VA organization dedicated to providing support to veterans interested in entrepreneurship.
Scott Denniston is also Executive Director of the National Veteran Small Business Coalition whose mission is to transition veterans into business owners and ensure the Federal acquisition field is fair for all veteran owned small businesses. He serves on the Humana Veterans Advisory Board which provides guidance to Human Healthcare Services Inc., on delivering innovative healthcare solutions to our Nation’s veterans. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the American Freedom Foundation and the American Small Business Coalition.
Scott Denniston received a B.A. degree in Economics from Waynesburg College and a M.S. degree in Government from Southern Illinois University. He is also a veteran, having served in the US Army. |
